A statistical analysis of a Galactic all sky survey at 1.4 GHz

چکیده

Radio surveys at frequencies of ∼ 1 GHz allow to map the synchrotron emission (SE) in a frequency range where (except for very low Galactic latitudes or towards localized regions) it dominates over the other radio components. New all sky total intensity and polarization data at 1.4 GHz have been recently collected. We focus on the Galactic radio emission correlation properties described in terms of angular power spectrum (APS). We present for the first time the APS, in both total intensity and polarization modes, for some representative Galactic cuts and suitable APS power law (PL) parametrizations.

New shell radio supernova remnant G 16 . 2 − 2 . 7

The extended radio source G16.2−2.7 is detected as a new previously uncataloged Galactic supernova remnant. Its non-thermal radio spectrum has spectral index α = −0.51, with Sν(1GHz) = 2.08 Jy, as being measured with the RATAN-600 radio telescope. The NRAO VLA Sky Survey (NVSS) map at 1.4 GHz shows a shelllike bilateral structure. The similar smoothed image from the Effelsberg survey at 2.7 GHz...

C-Band All-Sky Survey: A First Look at the Galaxy

We present an analysis of the diffuse emission at 5 GHz in the first quadrant of the Galactic plane using two months of preliminary intensity data taken with the C-Band All Sky Survey (C-BASS) northern instrument at the Owens Valley Radio Observatory, California. Combining C-BASS maps with ancillary data to make temperature-temperature plots we find synchrotron spectral indices of β = −2.65±0.0...

The impact of Galactic synchrotron emission on CMB anisotropy measurements

Context. Galactic foreground emission fluctuations are a limiting factor for precise cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy measurements. Aims. We intend to improve current estimates of the influence of Galactic synchrotron emission on the analysis of CMB anisotropies. Methods. We perform an angular power spectrum analysis (APS) of all-sky total intensity maps at 408 MHz and 1420 MHz, whi...

Herschel-ATLAS/GAMA: What determines the far-infrared properties of radio galaxies?

We perform a stacking analysis of Herschel Astrophysical Terahertz Large Area Survey (H-ATLAS) data in order to obtain isothermal dust temperatures and rest-frame luminosities at 250 μm (L250), for a well-defined sample of 1599 radio sources over the H-ATLAS Phase 1/Galaxy and Mass Assembly (GAMA) area. The radio sample is generated using a combination of NRAO VLA Sky Survey data and K-band Uni...

Mojave: Monitoring of Jets in Active Galactic Nuclei with Vlba Experiments. V. Multi-Epoch Vlba Images

We present images from a long-term program (MOJAVE: Monitoring of Jets in active galactic nuclei (AGNs) with VLBA Experiments) to survey the structure and evolution of parsec-scale jet phenomena associated with bright radio-loud active galaxies in the northern sky. The observations consist of 2424 15 GHz Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) images of a complete flux-density-limited sample of 135 AGN...
